Cheri Lindley was born in Oregon, raised in Idaho, and has a 1959 Liberal Arts graduate of Washington State University, Cheri is a true native of the Pacific Northwest. Cheri began working with glass in 1970, and Lindley Glass Studio has grown from a hobbyist's enthusiasm in a corner of the basement to a large working studio that now produces a broad range of glass art. Cheri has rarely shown in galleries or museums, but referrals for commissions of commercial, religious and residential pieces have taken her work around the world.
Starting with flat glass, Cheri quickly moved on to a more complex designs. A distinctive characteristic of her leaded panels and sculptured pieces is the creation of 3-dimensions and void spaces through the use of fused, tilted, and bent glass. She has incorporated these features into her work along with decorative lead, wire, metal and work for many years.
Having done etched windows for some time, in the early 80's, Cheri began carving, etching and engraving small glass and crystal pieces incorporating my her designs, logos, and several styles of Doug Lindley's calligraphic art. Lindley Glass Studio now produces work ranging from single hand-carved pieces for a specific client to several limited editions of etched and carved glass. By combining hand-cutting with the use of special photographic processes, the studio can make unique one-of-a-kind collectibles.
The variety of work continues to expand and Cheri is always eager to have prospective clients visit the studio to consult with her directly in the development of their project.
